Day Tour to the Mysterious Petroglyphs of Tanbally Tas

We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning (usually we start at 9 am) and head to Tanbaly Gorge in the Chu-Ili Mountains. It will take you 2.5-3 hours to get to the open-air museum. Did you know that Tamgaly became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004? Once there you immediately feel as if you are back in Bronze Age and get unforgettable memories that you cannot get anywhere else. See and understand the meaning of the ancient rock paintings (with the assistance of a knowledgeable guide) in a picturesque canyon, which would have had rather limited conditions for the building of settlements, but perfect for the rock art activity. During the walk you will see one of the examples of extraordinary pecked figures that look like a human with large disc-shaped heads surrounded by halos of spots and rays – the so-called ‘sun deities’.  These monuments of art reflect the culture, economy, outlook, customs, and traditions of generations of different ages. After a walk among petroglyphs, we will have a picnic. In the end, we will drop you off at your hotel/hostel.
